Welcome to the world of CLASSIC ROCK.  I'm DJ Urpman and I will be your guide to the 60's, 70's, and 80's.  Every Sunday night from 6-8PM (EST) I will be featuring songs from one specific year from the era of CLASSIC ROCK. Notice I said "songs" from the era and not "hits". Many times the songs will be "deep tracks". (Don't you just love "dj-speak"?) For instance, if I were dealing with the year 1968 on my show, I wouldn't play Steppenwolf's "Born To Be Wild", but instead would play something else from Steppenwolf's first album, like "Hoochie Coochie Man". Some of these songs will be familiar to you, and others may not be. But isn't it great to discover new music that you can connect with.

Here on the blog I invite you to share your love of and interest in the music from "yester-year".  Tell us about concerts you have seen, records that you bought, bands that deserved more attention than they received.....share with us your knowledge that CLASSIC ROCK is some of the best music around.

For this first blog, I send out a challenge to all of you listeners. Check out the band "Fever Tree" from Texas. In 1968 they had a minor hit with "San Francisco Girls". Search the internet for their music and enjoy it. One blurb from the ALL MUSIC GUIDE website says about their self-titled first album "the album ought to be better known than it is, which is probably also true of the band itself." Check out Fever Tree and let me know what you think.

I look forward to your comments and ideas.  So........................blog away!
