Ma Barker band was formed in 1996 by guitarist/vocalist Joe Barker and guitarist/vocalist Johnny G. After recording there first album together, the CD (Dangerous) was complete. The band continued to play around the area, to support there self-released CD.

Ma Barker was steadily making a name for themselves, as well as doing shows at Joe Pops Shore Bar, and another wrat show years later, as well as constant gigging to support the band.

The band was noticed by Judy Vanzant, the wife of legendary singer the late Ronnie Vanzant of Lynyrd Skynyrd. After Johnny G. did some work for the band in the video "Travlin Man." Judy Vanzant was given a CD of Ma Barker, and the band was later contacted by her to play a Skynyrd memorial show at the Ronnie Vanzant memorial park in Florida.

The band had a slew of gigs lined up at that point, and continued to rock the Jersey coast. Unfortunately, all that hard work would shortly fall apart, after musical differences from with in the band. Which caused Ma Barker to cancel some of there biggest shows to come.

For years the members would go on to do there own thing musically, Johnny G. would go on to writing 2 more albums that have been recorded with other great musicians, such as legendary guitarist Ed Mundell and drummer Bob Pantela of Monster Magnet. Joe Barker would return to do some studio work also.

As the years went by and a MySpace page was built, it didn't take long to create a fan base, new and old. The band would reunite in 08, only to be noticed by another up and coming band by the name of SwampdaWamp, out of North Carolina, by front man Gig Michaels. Gig had contacted Johnny G. of Ma Barker and asked the band to be on the bill as they headed toward the North East etc. Ma Barker was reborn as they accepted the offer, and brought forth there new style of in your face southern rock-and roll. Off there new album Ma Barker ( Hard Bark )  an album with a harder edge then there previous CD (Dangerous) ,and would be fronted this time by, guitarist/vocalist Johnny G. as well as guitarist / vocalist Joe Barker that helped start it all back in the early days .

The new line up for Ma Barker would be 3 of its original members.

Johnny G. - guitar /vocals
Joe Barker -  guitar/vocals
Mark Yard  -   bass

And newly found drummer Kevin Przybylowski a solid member of the band since his audition, as the band needed to search no more.

Come see Ma Barker with there 2 dynamic front man guitarists as they combine there musical differences, and make there mark on this thing called rock -n - roll.  You can hear more of Ma Barker on myspace.com/mabarkerband and hear 6 tracks of there newly complete 4th album of the Ma Barker Band.

NOTE:  This band performs with their hearts/souls...you can hear such in every word that's sung..every stroke of the strings...and...give them a listen, you won't be disappointed, I promise!  ~Jan~

"There's a party in the sticks you don't wanna miss..."

Preacher Stone is guitar-driven, deep-groovin', in-your-face, 200 proof rock and roll delivered with a heapin' helpin' of southern swagger.  Described as a "Southern Rock Assault" and "A Force to be Reckoned with," Preacher Stone has been winning fans world-wide with the release of their debut CD "Livin'Proof."  The band's song "Not Today" (about a Southern Man's idea of justice) is receiving massive amounts of internet radio airplay and well as thousands of plays on MySpace.

This rock band from The South was formed at the end of 2008 in Charlotte, NC by former members of Phantom Park and Riddle.  The fruit of their labor is a potent mixture of rock, blues and progressive country.

Proudly bearing the influence of Skynyrd, Aerosmith, The Crowes, and Bad Company, they are a NEW band that has captured the Classic Rock Sound. The guitars are diabolical, the rhythm section is powerful, and the vocals are whiskey soaked and soulful.

Live, Preacher Stone's rompin', stompin', sing along, party in the pasture vibe captivates every audience  and takes them on a V-8 powered Hayride of Southern culture & rockin' blues as preacher stone delivers fist-pumpin', hell-raisin' tunes about life as they know it.

The message is clear.  Preacher Stone Rocks!!!  Amen.

Instrumentation
Ronnie Riddle - Lead Vocals, Harmonica
Marty Hill - Lead, Slide, Rhythm Guitars
Benny Huntt - Lead, Slide, Rhythm, Guitars, Vocals
Glenn Blackburn - Bass, Vocals
Jason Donaldson - Drums, Percussion

Debut CD soon to be released!

NOTE:  I have been friends thru Myspace with Marty and the guys for a year or so...I can promise you...this band ROCKS and their friendship/sharing their music means so much to me!  If you're in their area, you definitely want to see this great band perform.  They'll leave you with wanting more!   ~Jan~

P.S.  Can't wait to get my Preacher Stone hat, Marty!  LOL

Gerry Lane Short Biography

Gerry Lane is a singer/songwriter originally from West Cork, Ireland. His gutsy, gravelly, vocal style, coupled with his raw, powerful and emotive guitar playing and unique dynamic stage presence has endeared him to music fans around the world who come back time and time again to see him perform. His lyrics are sometimes considered impressionistic, with interpretations varying depending on the listener. While Gerry writes all of his own songs, he often indulges in creating new arrangements of favorite cover songs, mostly in the Blues of the 30's,40's 50's....the Soul of the 60's and the rock of the 70's era. Gerry is equally at home playing acoustic blues as he is electric blues in the Chicago and Texas styles. He can at present be seen in his regular residency at the "19th Hole Bar" in the beautiful Meloneras area of Gran Canaria playing and preaching' the blues to the people who frequent the bar..... and occasionally gigging elsewhere in Europe in places like Belgium, Ireland etc. Gerry's fans describe his live shows as captivating and enveloping. He peppers his performances with stories and tidbits' of his favorite artists and musical heroes between songs. Gerry is an urban songwriter who is both down to earth in his music, style, and interaction with fans. During his career he has had the opportunity to work and play with some of the biggest names in the music business. For example: Noel Redding (ex bass player with the Jimi Hendrix Experience), famed drummer Cozy Powell (Jeff Beck, Rainbow, Whitesnake, Black Sabbath and Peter Green), Rory Gallagher, Gary Moore, Neil Murray (bass player with Whitesnake, Brian May), John Sinclair (keyboard player with Uriah Heep, Ozzy Osbourne) to name but a few. Gerry had two of his songs "I Wanna Hear You Shout" and "Cryin" included on Cozy Powell's album "The Drums Are Back " Other musicians on the CD were : Brian May (Guitars), Jon Lord (Keyboards), Billy Sheehan (Bass) John Sinclair (Keyboards), Neil Murray (Bass), among others. If you ever get the chance to go to Gran Canaria........check out one of Gerry's shows in the 19th Hole................. you won't be disappointed.

"Meloneras Blues" (The Album) is his new blues/rock album, with a great mix of styles, packed full of original songs, gravelly vocals, raw powerful and emotive guitar playing.......it's blues/rock, with the odd Rock Ballad and Country/Rock song thrown in for good measure.

Note:  I met Gerry through MySpace several months ago.  I was in "awe" with the music/words of this great artist!  He sings the blues from his heart and soul.  He's a dear friend of mine and I think once you hear the words and melody of his songs...you will be captivated also!  ~Jan~

Energetic..Electric Blues...that begs you to give them a listen!

Blue Plate Special, from their press release, has "engergized audiences with their distinct blues sound around the Chicago area."

R.P. Michaels...leads the band as songwriter, vocals, bass and keyboards of the group and lends his distinct voice to the songs that they perform.  Outside of his work with BPS, R.P. has played as an "on call" bassist for known blues artist, Muddy Waters back in 1971-72.  Muddy's biggest influence was to advise R.P. to concentrate on his original song writings.

Harry Binford, guitar player, is known for his "powerful Fender" guitar playing.  He has done some side work with artist, Lavelle White.  He's influenced by the greats in the blues, but what you hear is what comes out that's all his alone.

Robert Pasenko, became the full-time drummer for the group in June '07.  He has a history of many years of experince and creativity with BPS.

You can check Blue Plate Special out at:

It's my honor to play this group's music on my show, "The Lady Plays The Blues", often!  The distinct sound of R.P.'s soulful voice...every note played....shows the love of what he and the group do with their sound.  I highly suggest that you give them a listen!

And, as R.P. sings...."can you dig it?..hell, yeah...I knew that you could"   And, I do!

As most know, I was a terresterial DJ for several years and have had the honor to meet, become friends, interview several musicians.  This part of my life has been so rewarding in many ways and long friendships were developed.

Now, since joining the "team" of Krush Radio, I have met some special people in my life that have brought back to me the long ago years of terrestrial radio that I thought would be lost forever, other than memories.

My listeners...I can only say "thank you"...for your friendship/support!  Without each of you, there would be no Jan Carroll...she would not exist anymore.  You all, keep me going each Thursday nite with your laughter and your love of music...you're the BEST!

And, lastly...definitely not the least...Doc Nasty, the owner of Krush Radio.  You've made this world a happier/better place to exist with your talent and your love of music.  Forever to you, Doc, I thank you for giving this "old girl" a chance to rock the net on the "best of the best"....Krush Radio!
